Improving access to
affordable school uniform

A simple, school-based reuse project helping pupils access essential uniform items with dignity.

Untitled design (9).png

The cost of school uniform continues to rise, with the greatest pressure falling at the start of the school year.

Branded items such as blazers and PE kit are often the most expensive and hardest to source affordably.

The Challenge

Back to School is a simple reuse model:

Pupils donate good-quality uniform at the end of term, and families can access those items ahead of September through a straightforward, stigma-free process.

A Practical Solution

The 3 key items

Blazers
PE T-Shirt
PE SHorts

These are the items that create the greatest cost pressure for families.

How it works

  • Pupils donate uniform at the end of term

  • Items are sorted, cleaned and prepared for colleciton

  • Families reserve items online

  • Items are collected and tried on before the new school year

Launching with a pilot at a local secondary school in 2026.

Economic Impact

School uniform costs create pressure for families, while millions of good-quality uniform items are discarded each year.
